Focused on Safer Clinical Decisions

PHP reduces inconsistency in care and preventable clinical errors in low- and middle-income countries.

Our Story

PHP Origins

Peabody Health Philanthropies is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2023. The sale of QURE, the health care technology company founded by Dr. John Peabody, provided the funding to establish PHP and expand access to EQIS, a platform validated through peer-reviewed research. PHP owns EQIS and works with trusted country partners to bring its measurement, feedback, and learning method to health systems that need it.

PHP helps clinicians make consistent, evidence-based decisions and gives country partners a practical way to sustain the program.

Our vision

A world where everyone can receive consistent, high-quality health care.

Our mission

Improve health care quality by using validated patient simulations to measure and standardize clinical practice over time, reduce costs, and improve outcomes in low- and middle-income countries.

What We Do

Without a way to measure clinical decisions, health systems struggle to improve quality. Patients with the same condition can receive very different care. This inconsistency contributes to missed diagnoses, excess testing, preventable complications, avoidable costs, and lost trust.

EQIS makes clinical decisions measurable. Clinicians complete realistic online cases and receive private, evidence-based feedback after every submitted question. Anonymous, aggregate data help country teams identify shared gaps, guide collaborative learning, and measure progress across six rounds.

Our 3 Pillars of Sustainability

Each project follows three pillars that address feasibility, government approval, and a business plan for long-term operation.

Pillar 1: Feasibility

PHP and its country partner confirm that clinicians can access and use EQIS, that cases reflect the setting, and that participating facilities can run the program.

Pillar 2: Government approval

The country team works with the appropriate authorities to approve EQIS for continuing education, licensing, relicensing, or another relevant pathway. Approval allows the partner to offer the platform to more users.

Pillar 3: A sustainable business plan

PHP and the country partner develop a plan to offer EQIS to hospitals, payers, clinicians, and other users. The partner retains the revenue and uses it to operate and expand the program.

Our Values

What Guides Our Work

Sustainability

Every program works toward local operation, government approval, and a durable source of revenue.

Local ownership

Country partners manage implementation and shape cases around local guidelines, resources, languages, and priorities.

Scientific rigor

Measurement must be credible, comparable, and grounded in evidence-based clinical decisions.

Continuous learning

Feedback should support reflection, collaboration, and stronger practice.

Equity

Every patient deserves consistent, high-quality care, regardless of location or health-system resources.

What Makes PHP Different

Measurement That Becomes Improvement

Realistic scenarios reveal how clinicians make decisions throughout an online patient encounter.

Feedback follows each submitted question, keeping the evidence connected to the decision.

Country teams lead implementation and learn to manage the cases, platform, data, funding, and program decisions.

Digital delivery supports validated, repeated measurement across facilities, specialties, and countries.

Government approval allows local partners to offer EQIS to users and retain the revenue needed to continue the work.
